However, it’s not always safe to store the footages in your cloud because the cloud can evaporate or lose footage any time so it will be a great idea to have a physical backup. So let’s get into the point on how you can save footage from your Nest cam.
Saving footage from Nest cam
Before starting with saving footage, you need to make sure that you have a Nest aware subscription.
Nest awareness allows you to get video history, ability to create video, activity zones, along with intelligent alerts and all of these are much important factors.
However, before saving the footage, you have to create some clips to get access to taking those clips. There are mainly two options for creating a clip: 1. Phone and 2. Computer.
On your phone you can make a clip up to 2 minutes and on the computer up to one hour.
How to save it on phone:
- Launch the Nest app.
- Choose the camera.
- View through the camera’s history.
- While playing the clip, press and hold New clip to start a clip and release to stop.
- Lastly hit a save.
And you are done with saving it on your phone.
How to save it on computer:
- Head over to home.nest.com.
- Select the camera.
- Tap on clips.
- Drag to choose the clip length.
- Give a name to your clips and hit Save.
And congratulations! You have successfully saved footage on your computer.
