Guide to how you can connect Google Home to Wi-Fi
Your Google assistant will hang on your every word if it isn’t connected to your Wi-Fi network. However, the syncing up process should be made during the initial setup of your Google assistant device. In this article, I will tell you the pretty straightforward steps to connect your Google assistant with your Wi-Fi during and after initial setup. But before that be ready with your Wi-Fi password and name.
Before jumping direct to the steps make sure that you have installed the Google Home app on your smartphone.
How you can connect WI-FI during initial setup
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap the plus+ sign placed in top-left.
- Click set up device.
- Go to the menu and then select location of your device and it’s name.
- Then a list of Wi-Fi network will appear, select the Wi-Fi network You want to connect.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password and hit connect.
- After few moments, the app will notify you when it is connected.
Connecting to Wi-Fi after initial setup
- Open the Google Home app.
- Go to the rooms and select the device you want to connect with Wi-Fi.
- Click settings cog.
- Tap the Wi-Fi tab, select the Wi-Fi network you want to connect.
- Enter password and connect it.
And you are all done. However, in case if you shift your house or change your Wi-Fi network then you have to go through few more steps to reconnect with the new one.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Select the device you want to change the Wi-Fi network of.
- Head over to settings cog.
- Click the Wi-Fi option in the list and then click forget network.
